IMD forecast signals above normal May rain with monsoon arriving mid May and Kerala on yellow alert

Monsoon timing shifts to May 14-16, not late June

India is set for above-normal May rainfall, with the southwest monsoon expected around May 14-16, according to the IMD. Delhi may see partly cloudy skies with light rain and thunderstorms on May 3. Kerala has a yellow alert for heavy showers and strong winds across all districts, while heavy downpours are forecast for parts of the Northeast and East.
