Abhishek Banerjee’s Z-plus security cover has been downgraded after a fresh review on the first day of the new BJP-led government. The Z-plus category, typically reserved for high-risk VIPs and involving CRPF commandos, had been in place for several years. Banerjee is expected to receive a lower security category going forward, according to sources.
