Kerala saw heavy rains on Saturday, prompting the IMD to issue an orange alert for Ernakulam, Thrissur, Idukki and Malappuram. The warning cites very heavy rainfall alongside thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching up to 50 km per hour. Separately, unusually high UV radiation levels were reported in Pathanamthitta and Idukki.
