Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati urged Uttar Pradesh to use cabinet expansion to directly benefit the poor, labourers, farmers, youth and women. She cautioned that if the changes don’t translate into security and justice for weaker sections, people may view it as just a political adjustment rather than real protection.
Ahead of UP assembly elections, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet was expanded in Lucknow. Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath at Gandhi Auditorium, Jan Bhavan. Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary and Manoj Kumar Pandey were sworn in as Cabinet Ministers, while Krishna Paswan, Surendra Diler, Hansraj Vishwakarma and Kailash Singh Rajput took oath as Ministers of State.
