Canada is introducing a one-time push to grant permanent residency faster to select temporary workers already living in the country. The move focuses on applicants in smaller towns who previously applied under existing immigration pathways, meaning no fresh applications are required. The government aims to transition as many as 33,000 workers to permanent resident status by 2027.
