Around 25 to 30 people were rescued after a severe storm damaged floating hutments near Dobra-Chanti in Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal, officials said. The SDRF received the alert through the Disaster Control Room and an SDRF team from the Koti Colony post, led by Sub-Inspector Narendra Rana, rushed to the site with rescue equipment.
Eight people were killed in Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal district after a vehicle reportedly lost control and plunged about 300 metres into a deep gorge near Nail. Injured passengers were taken to District Hospital Baurari, where doctors said they are receiving treatment and are out of danger. Police and local officials are investigating the crash.
