The Supreme Court, citing Justices JB Pardiwala and KV Viswanathan, said it is alarming that under one percent of transport vehicles are equipped with vehicle location tracking systems. The Bench highlighted the need for mandatory location tracking devices and panic buttons in taxis and other public vehicles, stressing that compliance remains dangerously low.
