A section of Bhagalpur’s Vikramshila Bridge collapsed into the Ganga early Sunday, after a pillar gave way around 1:10 AM. The concrete slab plunged into the river, sparking panic but avoiding a major disaster as traffic was promptly suspended and diverted between North and South Bihar. Authorities are assessing damage and restoring safety.
