At least 20 people died in Nepal’s Rolpa district after a jeep carrying Baisakh Purnima pilgrims skidded on a rain-soaked mountain road and fell nearly 700 metres into a deep gorge. The accident happened in the Jaljala area, and rescue operations were delayed as continuous rainfall hampered access to the crash site.
