Mali’s defence minister Sadio Camara was killed in an attack on his home in Kati near Bamako, according to his family. They said a car bomb killed Camara, his second wife and two grandchildren. The news comes as the army fought a second day of battles with jihadist fighters and separatist rebels across areas near the capital, escalating pressure on the ruling junta.
