Renowned photographer Raghu Rai, who passed away at 83, was confirmed by his family through Instagram. Born in 1942, he began his career in 1962 and became chief photographer for The Statesman by 1965. Over decades, Rai produced work spanning more than 18 books and earned major honours including the Padma Shri and international awards.
