The Union Cabinet has approved two semiconductor projects in Gujarat under ISM 1.0, including India’s first commercial Mini/Micro-LED display facility in Dholera and an OSAT packaging unit in Surat. Together they carry an investment of about Rs 3,936 crore, aiming to strengthen India’s chip ecosystem, expand manufacturing capabilities, and create over 2,200 jobs.
HCL-Foxconn has chosen Taiwanese engineering firm CTCI as its EPC partner for a ₹3,706 crore semiconductor OSAT facility in Uttar Pradesh. The plant will carry out assembly and testing, focusing on manufacturing display driver chips, and it also signals CTCI’s entry into India’s semiconductor ecosystem. CTCI’s established relationship with Foxconn played a key role in winning the contract.
