Maharashtra minister Uday Samant said former NCP leader Anand Paranjpe was inducted into Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena specifically to prevent him from joining any Opposition group, including the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Samant added that Sunetra Pawar’s NCP was kept informed to avoid misunderstandings within the ruling Mahayuti. He said attempts to reach Pawar directly failed due to her being at an event, so NCP MP Parth Pawar and then Jay Pawar were contacted. Paranjpe resigned from NCP and joined Shiv Sena after leaving the party.
NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar has claimed that Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare and 22 NCP MLAs will contest upcoming elections on BJP tickets. He also raised allegations of drug sales and extortion in Baramati, turning the spotlight on internal party tensions. An NCP spokesperson rejected the charge, saying the party remains united under Sunetra Pawar.

NCP national president and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar said the people of Baramati’s votes were dedicated to the sacred memory of late Ajit Pawar. In a post on X, she linked the victory to the faith voters reposed in the party and its leadership, framing the win as both political and personal in significance.
Sunetra Pawar, NCP candidate in the Baramati bypoll, is poised for a major win and has urged supporters to avoid victory processions. In a bid to temper celebrations, she dedicated voters’ trust to her late husband Ajit Pawar and called on everyone to show restraint and follow his ideals. She says the mandate points to a new phase for Baramati.
Rohit Pawar says Baramati residents oppose a potential “Pawar versus Pawar” election in 2029, claiming some NCP members may want it to break the Pawar family’s political legacy. The remarks have sparked speculation about a possible contest involving Jay Pawar and Yugendra Pawar, while Shrinivas Pawar dismissed such talk as premature.
