OpenAI has rolled out GPT-5.5 Instant as ChatGPT’s default model and added “memory sources” so users can see some of the context behind personalized answers. But OpenAI admits it may not show every factor, and enterprises already logging RAG context may now face a conflicting second, incomplete observability layer that complicates audits and troubleshooting.
