Maratha activist Manoj Jarange has announced an indefinite hunger strike from May 30, after accusing the Maharashtra government of stalling Kunbi caste certificate issuance in Marathwada. He gave a May 29 deadline for certificates and warned of renewed agitation if authorities fail to act. Jarange also demanded the dissolution of the Maratha quota sub-committee, validation of Gazette-based certificates, and withdrawal of police cases against protesters. He linked the protest to pending scholarships and a recent cabinet policy affecting reserved category claims on open seats.
