The CCPA has fined Motion Education and Career Line Coaching Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh, respectively, over misleading JEE and NEET result advertisements. The regulator said the institutes used students’ names, photos and ranks in promotions while concealing key details about what programmes those students actually took. Investigators found many featured successes were enrolled in free online courses or test-series only, and some joined after exams ended. The orders were challenged at the NCDRC.
IITs are set to let students take select courses at other campuses and even spend a semester away from their home institute starting this academic year. Reportedly the first formal academic exchange within the IIT system, the change aims to reduce the rigidity of the JEE rank driven pathway that has long tied entry to the entire academic journey.

A JEE aspirant identified as Saurabh Kumar was found dead allegedly by suicide in Patna near the Gandhi Maidan Police Station area. Police say his cousins discovered him after he returned from coaching. Investigators recovered a suicide note from the room in which Kumar reportedly blamed academic pressure and wrote that no one else was responsible.
