India has begun the girder laying for the 4th, 5th and 6th Air Cushion Vehicles (ACVs) for the Indian Coast Guard at Chowgule Shipyard in Goa. Indigenously fabricated with 50% local material under Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the multipurpose hovercrafts are designed for high-speed patrols, shallow-water reconnaissance, day-night search and rescue, and rapid interception and assistance to vessels in distress.
DRDO and the Indian Navy have completed advanced hydrodynamic performance assessment and model testing for a frontline warship, meeting global standards. In parallel, DRDO unveiled tracked and wheeled armoured platforms featuring a 30mm crewless turret, ATGM capability, and around 65% indigenous content—signalling faster progress across naval and land defence development.
