Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai has proposed converting underutilised police and CAPF camps in tribal areas into “Seva Kendras” that provide government services locally. The plan, presented to Union home minister Amit Shah, follows improved security after the region was declared Maoist-free, leaving many camps with limited use. A first phase will identify low-usage sites, then bring repairs, connectivity, electricity and water before integrating departments. Services include certificates, ration and Aadhaar updates, banking, ticket booking, health programs, and skilling.
Maharashtra is set to launch 60 model property sub-registrar offices designed to make property registrations quicker and more efficient. Managed by VFS Global, the new centers will give buyers the option to use modern services while the government keeps strict oversight. The move is aimed at reducing delays and improving the overall citizen experience.
