Census 2027 field operations are underway across Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Chandigarh. In parallel, residents in Delhi, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Meghalaya and Jharkhand can use a self-enumeration facility to submit their data online. The rollout aims to speed up collection while improving accuracy through easier participation.
