RBI officers have escalated their protest over a promotion policy overhaul that ties promotions to vacancy availability instead of an earlier time-bound schedule. The Reserve Bank of India Officers’ Association has written to the governor, saying the change has triggered widespread demoralization and is seeking an immediate review to bring back assured, time-bound promotions.

The Himachal Pradesh government has directed the immediate release of the remaining 30% gratuity and leave encashment arrears for Class IV employees who retired or died between January 1, 2016 and January 31, 2022. The order clears pending dues, following earlier disbursal of interim relief and dearness allowance installments.
