London restaurateur Harman Singh Kapoor says he was held for nearly 24 hours after an arrest tied to his non halal restaurant Rangrez. He alleges discriminatory treatment by the Metropolitan Police and Mayor Sadiq Khan, saying authorities acted unfairly despite his Sikh faith based principles. Kapoor now plans legal action and asks supporters to patronize his business directly.
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said AI systems can reflect discrimination and carry inherent bias against the poor. Speaking at the 8th Dinkar Memorial Lecture on “Rashmirathi: The Epic of Social Justice,” he linked the ideals of equality and human dignity from Ramdhari Singh Dinkar to constitutional values long after they were first expressed. The message: social justice must guide technology too.
