India has launched an indigenous Cell Broadcast System that sends real-time, geo-targeted disaster warnings directly to mobile phones nationwide. Inaugurated in New Delhi by Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia under Amit Shah’s guidance, it is built by C-DOT with NDMA and the Home Ministry. Operating across all 36 states and UTs, it uses CAP and works on 2G to 5G to reach people even during network congestion.
