The Bar Council of India has begun verifying whether West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee holds a valid licence to practice law after she appeared in advocate attire at the Calcutta High Court for a PIL on alleged post-poll violence. BCI Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra questioned a discrepancy between her Supreme Court appearance and this High Court appearance.
