The Election Commission of India is rolling out a QR based identification system for every person entering counting centres for the 2026 assembly results. The move aims to curb unauthorised access, tighten security during the most sensitive counting window, and streamline who can move where. ECI says the approach will enable tighter digital fencing and controlled entry for authorised staff.
