He says such requests insult an artist’s dignity

Kailash Kher faced an awkward moment at a Delhi event when he refused to sing just two impromptu lines. Explaining his reaction, he said casual stage requests cheapen an artist’s dignity, comparing it to telling a cricketer to hit a six or a soldier to fire. For him, artists are “sadhaks,” not entertainers.
