Jammu bridge collapse kills 3 labourers as govt suspends engineers and blacklists contractor

Workers were trapped during repairs when the bridge slipped

A bridge under maintenance in Jammu’s Thathar area collapsed during repairs on Thursday afternoon, crushing labourers and trapping around five to six workers. Three labourers died, one was rescued, and officials said the victims were from Chhattisgarh and Odisha. The J&K government suspended two engineers, attached an Executive Engineer, and blacklisted the contractor.
