Congress racks up Muslim wins across states with striking majorities in latest assembly results

Assam and Congress overlap in an unusually high share

Poll data from recent assembly elections shows Congress and its UDF alliance delivering a notable share of Muslim MLAs across multiple states. Assam reportedly has 18 of 19 Congress MLAs as Muslim, while Kerala’s UDF has 30 Muslim MLAs including eight from Congress. In West Bengal, both Congress winners are Muslim, and Tamil Nadu has one Muslim Congress MLA.
