Allahabad HC says no exclusive Namaz right on public land and backs state regulation of worship

Court rules worship there must not override public rights

It said individuals cannot unilaterally appropriate public property, stressing that religious practice must respect public order and the rights of others. Dismissing a petition for exclusive access, the court added that activities affecting the public domain can be regulated by the state.
